A Life Built on Hard Work and Service

Charrie Foglio (pronounced Sherry Folio) comes from proud, hardworking generations of Eastern Ohioans. Her roots trace back to the original settlers of the Ohio Valley, with deep family ties to Steubenville and Belmont County near Powhatan Point. Raised with a strong sense of family, responsibility, and resilience, those values have stayed with her throughout her life.

Although her education and career took her across the country and around the world, eastern Ohio has always been home. Eight years ago, when her parents chose to spend their remaining years surrounded by the people and places they loved, Charrie returned with them to Toronto, Ohio—without hesitation. For her, family comes first, and coming home was simply the right thing to do.

For more than 40 years, Charrie built a career in the music industry, working on a management team that represented artists from all walks of life. As a member of the Musicians’ Union, her work focused on protecting livelihoods, negotiating on behalf of others, and making sure people were treated fairly. It wasn’t about recognition—it was about doing the job right and standing up for the people who depended on her.

Many of the artists she worked with have gone on to be recognized in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but for Charrie, the most meaningful part of her career was the relationships she built and the people she helped along the way.

Those experiences shaped how she sees the world. She believes deeply in the value of community, hard work, and looking out for one another—principles that hold true whether you’re in a packed arena or a small town in eastern Ohio.

Throughout her life, Charrie has never been afraid to take on challenges. As a woman working in male-dominated industries, she learned early on how to stand her ground, speak up, and push forward when things weren’t easy. Those experiences built the resilience and determination that define her today.

As the middle child of three, Charrie often jokes that she had to fight a little harder to be heard—but that experience helped shape her strong sense of fairness and her instinct to stand up for those who feel overlooked or unheard.

That same drive led her to pursue a law degree later in life, becoming an attorney at the age of 50. By that point, she brought decades of real-world experience into her studies, giving her a practical understanding of how systems work and how to navigate them. Her legal training strengthened her ability to advocate, negotiate, and stand up for others when it matters most.

At her core, Charrie Foglio believes in fairness, hard work, and doing right by people. Those values weren’t learned in a classroom—they were built over a lifetime of experience, challenges, and standing up for others—and they continue to guide her every day.
